invite

My mum recently asked me to make a birthday invite for her and auntie S. They have their birthdays one day apart and every year they throw a party for their friends to celebrate. Although it’s not for a few more months, here is what I came up with:

sabi ni sab

Little girl has been babbling a lot lately and at that age just like her ahia a lot of it is still alien to us. It amazes me that I’m writing this at the same points in their lives, both at 20 mos old (my blog post for E is here).

Here are some of what she’s saying:

  • ay skoo  = play school (kiddie show)
  • a-pol = apple
  • bi-bid = big bird (of sesame street)
  • eh-mo = elmo
  • yogur = yoghurt
  • daa-daa (said with all sweetness) = dada
  • ah-ya = ahia (big brother E)
  • ba-ba (with matching wave) = bye-bye
  • i-fo = iphone
  • i-pa = ipad
  • akoo = octonauts (another kiddie show), I don’t know why but that’s what she shouts whenever the show comes on
  • tek yoo = thank you
  • popo = carry me
  • la na = wala na/no more
  • wa mo  = one more

free kit :)

I joined the contest that Fei Fei Stuff was having. She was giving away a kit that she’s releasing on Digital Crea where she’s the guest designer for the month. And my entry was lucky enough to be picked by the random number generator. haha!

velociraptor

At E’s school, they do news (show and tell) every week. Some weeks have assigned topics while some are free choice. For the last week of Term 1, it was free choice. Now, we’ve always struggled to get E to sit down and prepare something for news. We usually have to help him with what he has to say and I have to do the visuals for him. It’s harder with the set topics than with free choice though. The other night when I asked him about what he will do for news, he immediately told me that he wanted to talk about dinosaurs. Yes, he does have a fascination with it. What was a surprise was he asked for a sheet of paper, asked for me to get on a website and he buckled down and did the work by himself. This was what he did:

He was so proud that he did “research”, he even told one of his classmates as soon as we reached school. I was talking to his teacher that afternoon and she mentioned that he did wonderful on his news. She was pleased with how E was confident and proud when delivering his news that she will be giving him a merit award tomorrow.  Music to our ears!

PS2011: January pt2

So I finally finished the other page for January from the 2 templates that SP provided. This photo was taken at the great barrier reef exhibit at Sydney Aquarium. It was E’s special request to go visit the aquarium on his birthday, he was keen on seeing the Lego on the loose exhibits there.

end of year

E’s class had their end of year party last Sunday. Everyone surely enjoyed the day from the kids to the parents. It was really nice to see majority of  E’s classmates there. I can’t believe that it has been a year, it really seems like they’ve just started school. Today was their last day and they had a little send off for the year 6 students.

It was a good year in kindy and here’s to another good year in year 1.

Oh, and Shabby Shoppe Blog Challenge Seven is on till December 23, 2010. Hop on over to the Shabby Shoppe Blog to join and get your chance to win a GC to the shoppe.
